'm Back and Tired

Today, I went to Kg. Kapar for the MERCY project:Rohigya refugee medical relief. It was fun, but tiring (ayat skema sgt) I was in charge of the registration counter. It was totally an eye opener. I've been warned that I'd be attacked by the refugees before-hand, so I have sort-of-anticipated how the crowds would react. But, getting pushed against the wall, miscalculations of age and hap-hazard crowds throwing their cards at my face caught me off-guard!! Shitt-To!! all this while, during the sunathons and the free medical check-ups, I've been hearing how sometimes it's hard to operate in a registration station. Now I get it. It was Giillee! I think I twisted my tongue a couple of times during the hole hours I was there. Writing for almost 100 patients' name and UNHCR cards number wasn't a walk in the park either. It definitely tire me out. I had to call for back-up after 25 patients and another volunteer help us through after the 119th patient came (we had 154 patients registered and 3 undocumented treatment). it's a GOOD thing I sorted the old patients card thorough-fully before reaching the village. Phew...

I did make some new accountainces too. One of them wants me to participate in her public outreach projects for prostitutes, mak ayam and homosexuals (gile kenchang project die, takot aku..) through, my exams come first now. So I don't think I would be in the group. (takot jeh sebenarnye)

the journey to and fro was eventful too.

We were lepaking in the ESSO mobile mart (or so ever you call it) while waiting for the others to arrive (one of the docs were sesat). Meme, Nadiah, OA and me were looking at the stuff by the window. suddenly, an old man walk up to us and tried to hand us RM 50 -- nak isi minyak !! it was so funny!! we laugh like hell! there wasn't even a slit at the window panel to take the money. serius die ingat kitorng pekerje kat counter minyak tuh! ahahaahahahaha!!

Meme sat on something in Nadiah's car (we decide to call it kenching lembu) and had to tuck in his shirt, and he wrote "Ahmad" on his card. alah, chomel, ala-ala budak baik!! hahaha (matilah Dae kejar aku ngn parang lepas nie)

Nadiah's car rosak as in cannot ignite the engine after we finished the mission (cuak gile die) after we had some help from the apeks (jump-start jeh) of an automotor shop, we went straight back to cyber. Katelah silap ambek jalan! but then again we did accidentally took the ELITE highway which was way cool as we only have to pay RM5.50 for the toll instead of RM6++ for the original route. the only disadvantage was the whole damn road was soooooooooooo boring with nothing to look at except grass... huhu

something to bitch about

"
... I know it's just a co-curriculum with grades for you, but here at Mercy, we have responsibilities for our beneficiaries. (sickening intonation) Pls try to be more serious next time (pause) OK, moving on... "

Ok, first of all, let me say I have nothing against MERCY Malaysia. This is just something between me and one of the officials. here goes...

just where do you get those ridiculously gibberish ideas? Do you know how hard it has been for us? Hello, just because you have experience from all over the countries (entah berape negare la ko da pegi, bukannye aku kesah pon) you think that grant you the right to judge other people? I know it was a mistake from our side. We are very sorry for that, but it was A MISTAKE! ONE single mistake (which is a communication breakdown, something that occasionally occur in our everyday life) but why do you have to blame our university and our system? And WHAT THE HELL is that about us doing this for the sake of grades? If we were yes, we are different (crazy) from other medic students, yes we have a lot of activities compared to other medic students, BUT at the end of the day, we're still MEDIC STUDENTS!! We're not like other students! we LOADS to learn (mind you our Proffesional Exams are just around the corner) and revise. the PACKED public health (one more thing I can bitch about... later...) doesn't help either. We have exams almost every week! We have other commitments too! we even sacrifice a MAJORITY of our social life. EVEN in this kind of situations, we still make time to pack the meds (which, by the way, are sent quite last minute too) and the hygine kit. We did it out of concern, out of generosity, out of the simple knowledge that all the things we do would benefit someone. SO make sure you mind your godammed pie-hole when you want to pin us down. FOr GRADES? for POINTERS? just because Young Mercy is incorporated in our grading system, it doesn't mean we are just doing it half-heartedly.

FYI, the whole project is a
co-curriculum . It's not even accounted for our grades! We're tired and it's not something very nice to hear. It took much effort for me not to retort to your prejudiced bitching or I would have take the house down bebeh.

HAMBEK ko! Marah la kalo dah buat kerje ikhlas, penat-penat, nak cakap buat kerje setakat nak dapat markah je'?? JE'? JEEE??!! ish, nak melenting lagik nie...

and the BURDEN is lifted...

Thank God it’s OVER!! It’s finally OVER! The turbulence have passed, and I, am at calm once again, huhu

Congratulations YM4 on completing the Fund raising campaign! It was fun really minus the hard work all of us put into it though. I would like to congratulate all the committee members notably Husni the Boss, Husna the kental (sampai masok hospital) Junabon the secretary paling busy, Arab the emo treasurer, Bapak who had a hard time collecting the stuff for the exhibition & Kak Azi, (tanpe akak, matilah saye). Tidak lupe juge kepade rakan-rakan saya yang lain, thank you so much, muaaah!! (overlah plak, macam ucapan menang anugerah, wuahaha)

I was in charge of the Food & Drinks and the Selling Booth along with Kak Zee. through the exam is quite near, I couldn’t sleep at all because of the event. Serious. All was well and my progression with the booth was quite okay if I may say so myself. Unfortunately, towards the end of the week (2 days before the actual event) there was so much people cancelled their booth, I was literally banging my head to the wall. it’s quite hard to find a replacement for all of them, and in the end only a couple of them participated L.. boo hoo…

The event was smooth through, as the basketball league was over by mid afternoon and the futsal matches were done after a couple more hours later. We even had some lelong session with the foodstuff.

Overall, it was a great but tiring event. Would I do it all over again if I had a chance?

NO, because I think we should try other types of fund raising program (tu upon KALAU nak buat lagik, which is HIGHLY unlikely!!)

EDIT: gile lah, baru je cakap tak nak buat dah ade pulak orang offer buat futsal lagik! Shoooot…

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Joined a medical check-up group on the next day. Had to wake up as early as 6.15 am because we were supposed to leave by 6.30 am. GILE tak?? But as the old saying goes “kite hanye merancang…” we end up leaving CUCMS around 7.30 am. Zaimi led the convoy with such a rush that I was bouncing here and there at the back of the car (matilah ringan sangat) there were two cars following behind us (Arab’s and Acap’s) through we had to slow down as Acap was going too slow at some point (tak perlu nak bermesre sgt ngn bini kau kott!!) We did reach the place (which was just beside Kem Rebutia, ah.. memori BLS) right on time.

It was really fun getting along with the kids. See, they were organizing an orphans’ “family day” named Tautan Kasih III. There were orphans from 4 houses, that’s between a figure of 170++ people (gile horror coz there was only 12 of us to do the medical check-up) we were briefed by both the doctor(for medical check-up) and by UNCLE (name glamour die). We assign ourselves according to what the doctor had said (he was very unfriendly, so I couldn’t remember his name, huhu) I thought we were going to do the usual medical check up (with the barometer and all) katelah sekali we were doing the medical checkup for kids! So there’s checking for scabies, fleas, heart and lung rhythm. Duh uh la jugak kan!! Ahaha…

One of the most fun part was the scabies checking station. Kak Pah, Mira F and me were in the same team. Kak Pah tunjuk belang during the medical checkup. She reprimand a boy for smoking (kantoi gile ngn kak pah) and lecture some of the others for keeping long nails. Takot tgk kak pah mase tuh, huhu :P lariiiiiiik

Then there was this kid that Zaimi examine during the last hour of the check-up. He was around 10 years old with a short breath. His breathing rate was 59/min (gile laju) and the heart rhythm was totally off. It was going, dubdubdubdudbdubdudbdudbdudbdub until Zaimi couln’t get a reading at all. Good thing his parents was there (anak penjage rumah anak yatim tuh) they were adviced to go to a hospital for further examination s soon as possible. Serius kesian.

We packed up, prayed (Azam jatuh dlm sungai) and went back home.but not before stopping at the Air Buah Keramat to have some more food and we even bought some fruits! Huhu! Zaimi met up with his parents too. After that, we went back home, but the road was so congested that Zaimi, Malik and me slept in the car (all three of us, bangun2 je kerete dah gerak depan gile, ahahaha)

We reached home at 7 pm. I continued doing other stuff until I was very tired and went to bed. Zzzzz…
