Been Thinking

currently listening to : Powerless by Nelly Furtado

just what is bothering me.

I have been peculiarly moody this weekend. It was filled with supposedly joyous occasions but it's not enough to cheer me up. No one said anything yet, but I noticed it myself; I can't seem to make long eye contacts because my eyes feel tired for what seem like an eternity and my face is not putting up those smiles no more, not even the fake smiles. At least not as often as I wanted to. And that makes me look moody and at certain times--angry, even through I wasn't angry at all.And I'm very quite sure of myself, I'm not having any PMS at the moment. So just why am I feeling like this? Hope the other housemates won't notice.

Or perhaps they had but they just remain quiet about it?? owh God...

----------------------------------------------

Found an old piece of poem stuck between the Biochem SCLs while I was going through the file;

Void, cancelled, simply annulled,

endlessly aching, unconsoled.

Life without you, cause without reason,
touch without sense, time without season,

I face, life now facing a cancerous sore,

A sordid parasite eating at my core,

All that makes me while, all I could hold deep within,
Leaving me lifeless, or at least not living.

A shallow face, anguished and marred.
An empty space, sealed and scarred,
sweetly abiding abiding to a cynical charade,

secretly hiding hind a factious facade,

this fragile and yet unfeeling mass.

Still lost within this heart of glass,

Lies the remains of a love that glowed,

the gift to you I once bestowed.

But honor and pride now bereaved,
by your love for me so misconceived...

the poem is incomplete and I have no idea who wrote it either.
So, thus anyone know who wrote it? and where can I get it? seems like a good one, too bad it's not complete.

---------------------------------------------

My eyes are very drowsy. and I still can't sleep.

Maybe it's because of the exams. Who knows?

The Day After

Was supposed to blog yesterday after the exams but procrastination got the better of me. haha

So. The exam turn out pretty much O-kayh at first. There were even one question for Disaster Medicine. And not t forget my fav question, vibrio cholera. (Best kan?) But there was this case on DIVC which I didn't read at all. I knew it was coming out but I totally forgot to read about it!! Despite some of us saying it's rare and all, the lecturers have been repeatedly warned us in the haemato block, this is the favorite question in PRO exam. (siap tulis kat white board pon!!) I knew this because when I open up the DIVC notes, terpampang "FAV PRO EXAM QUES. MUST READ!!" shitt gile lah kan... hmm..ah well, what done is done, right?

well, not so.

because that afternoon we had some chat with Prof. Zauyah. She and the other-quarantined lecturers are working hard to mark our papers (the marks were supposed to be handed in by that evening!!) She said a lot of us didn't follow the instructions properly. And by instructions, she meant on the question itself. There were so many people gave more than what the question wants (I'm one of them). For example, the question ask for two diseases, and we lot gave a range of four to ten diseases. And since this is the PROFESSIONAL exams, those didn't follow the instructions get zero marks!! for the whole question! Matilah hilang markah macam tuh ajer! Sape suruh buat lebeh2 kan? Padanlah muke sendiri... waaaaaaaa....

that being said, they have yet again got me scared shit-less. To have the marks by that evening? They are so very eager to help us with our study, with our lives. They want us to succeed and expectations in the clinical postings are high, mind you.

Don't worry, we still have 3 more days!

SILE STUDY

---------------------------------------

a review:

Big Shots. there have been praises of this series so I was expecting it to be a GREAT series. It turn out to be a major disappointment. The series, rumored to be like the desperate housewives, but from a men's point of view, have something in common with the later. The series open up with the death of someone through he didn't get to be the narrator. There were a group of friends who share their secrets and problems and some teeny- weeny gossips. Then, there were the affairs and troubled marital relationship. Owh, and the golfs are making me sick. I got sleepy halfway through the episode watching them play golf. Whenever they were going to have a talk, they'll do it at the golf club. Don't they have other places to go? What the heck is so good about golf-ing anyway that you'll play it on top of the roof of your office? There's also this multi-purpose hall at the club. they attended the party-that-killed-the-boss there, the funeral there and then they had another cocktail party there. That pretty much creeps me out. And don't get me started with the characters... but then again, it's just the first episode. So I'll watch one or two more before giving the final verdict.

The So-Called Chaos

Anat, Physios and Pathos all scattered
D-days and blogging responsibility

Have-to's and need-to's and get-to's by three
Thirtieth hours and upset students

I want to be naked, running through the streets
I want to invite this so called chaos, that you'd think I dare not be
I want to be weightless, flying through the air
I want to drop all these limitations at the shoes upon my feet

Heartburn and headaches and soon-to-be ulcers
Compulsive yearnings non-stop to learn more

All won't be lost if I'm governed by my own innate-ness
Stop lights won't work I'll get home sound and safe regardless
Won't be mayhem if I'm ruled by my own rule-lessness
My fire won't quell and I'll be harm-free and distress-less (trust me)

Line towing, and helping, expectations up to living
Inside box obeying, inside line coloring

I want to be naked, running through the streets
I want to invite this so called chaos, that you'd think I dare not be
I want to be weightless, flying through the air

I want to drop all these limitations and return to what I was born to be

Another Birthday Post

So.

It's 24th of October.

Happy 21st Birthday Adi!

Yes, that's right, the ever pedophile-peads specialist wannabe have reach 21 years old. He's still a bit on the 'mereng side' but thats what makes him special. Too bad ING won't be covering you anymore, hehehe.

We wanted to have a nice surprise for him, but no ideas came to me today. Blame the exams for me not being able to think straight. Finally Azam came up with the idea of wreaking the car's alarm system to bring him out of the house.

We bought the cake at secret recipe. Blueberry Cheesecake. Not particularly my kind of cake. But the attendants and cashier at the bakery was pushing us (and my patience) to take the cake. So we gave in and got the cake (malas nak argue lagih) I wanted to avoid creams to prevent any unnecessary mess. (the cake was laden with cream mind you)

So it's inevitable because;

guys + creams + flour + birthdays = ONE messy occasion.

Anyways,

Adi came out when his car 'cannot start' and when he checked the engine, there was his cake.

We sang and let Adi cut the cake, but not before Malik tonyoh (can't find a better word) a handful of flour on him.

silelah tangan kerepot abis

And that's when the fun begins. Creams passing through someone's face. Me chasing after Azam down the road. Flour rushing trough and in between faces.

even my sandal was thrown at some point.

Too bad the cameras ran out of batteries after some clicks. Well, then again, who's going to take the pictures anyway when everyone is busy trying to get the other smudged with creams and flour. which reminds me; HOI, HABESLAH TEPUNG AKU NAK BUAT KUIH MONYET OII!

The aftermath?

Lets just say everyone except bapak got some cream and flour on their bosy and part of our house now stank of cream (azam think it smelled of vomit!!). Ouwh and the neighbors' car got hit too! *ehem*haris-punye-keje*ehem*

kenal tak kerete nie?? :P

Thank you Adi for giving us a reason to break off from the hell-ish studying marathon! Hope you'll make your dreams come true in the future!

--------------------------------------

Thank you Farha for those kind words just now.

Really appreciate it.

And don't worry, you're definitely hold a special place in my list of friends.

Really Now

currently listening to: Ingrid Michaelson--Keep Breathing

blogging is addictive.

It can get to your head if you let it to. Makes you think of nothing else but to pour out every thoughts you had left within your brain and soul.

You'll miss out the conversations around you. Misplace important things. Misread the books. Mis-a-whole-lot-of-other-things-in-life.

Lose more precious time in such critical moments.

But this time, just this once, I'll just let it be

Because I need this

--------------------------

I wrote expressively long paragraphs. Been doing that for almost my whole life. So it was surprising how someone I know would actually read those awfully long sentences fulled of quotes and ramblings with desperate commas to kunun-kunun reduce the looooongness of it all.

For that, I'm deeply touch.

thank you, friends!

-------------------------

I'm having a mix of feelings right now. With the rainbow of voices in my head speaking and arguing with each other, it's pretty stressful to just listen and not being able to shut them up.

So. I got together some clips of everything in my laptop hoping to define this feeling. To calm all nauseousness before it drowns me.

To make me sober again.

And I found this; the last 4 minutes of Grey's Anatomy season 3 finale. It's poignantly the closest thing that could wash away my heart.

I

am

FREE~ (hopefully)

-------------------------

lets see,

what I have covered:
  1. CVS
  2. Renal
  3. a bit of Microbs
  4. short sem-ed Musculo
  5. a bit of Repro
  6. a bit of Respiratory

what I have NOT covered:

~the rest of it

come Friday, and I can't bear to say what will happen...

-----------------------------

you need, different kind of friends for different stages in life or in different kind of situations.

I have:

a special friend to leak out everything to
a special friend to play the fool
a special friend who argues with you a lot
a special friend who criticize everything you do
a special friend who willing to cover up
a special friend you could ask devastating questions to
a special friend who could guide and teach you

a special friend to attain to each of my voice. They work in different ways at different times.

Even through I treat them differently, I make sure they are cherished in every breath I take. Without them, I'll cease the will to live.

For having them, I am grateful...

--------------------------

told a secret just now, to a new special person of mine.

an embarrassing secret I've hold off for years.

It was necessary.

now I must decide what do with it, sigh~

but then again, when more than 2 people know about something, it's no longer a secret, innit?

--------------------------

I'm not the least bit jealous,

the things you planned didn't really worked as planned.

Indeed through how attached I may be, I will always return to my place.

I know my place.

Your actions just reveals how "busuk hati" you are. My heart breaks not out of jealosy, but because I hate to see a good start of friendship disintegrating which subsequently will go down the drain, clogging it and bursting the whole thing after some time.

Please stop.

you are hurting our relationship ( thats yours and mine)

If you really wants it, take it by all means. I'm not going to to quit being my self. I will still be me. I'm not going to curl up and die. There's just so many other things in my life to let this stop me.

I'll forgive for those malicious statements and snickers you have been throwing.

As a special friend said to me " layan je die tuh"

I will,

but I'll be more careful now.

after all, quoting from a friend of mine;

" to forget, divine~"

simple, yet very deep

----------------------

it's 3.50 am in the morning and all the pressure points in my head are thumping. So to colour this post?

can't be bothered. Maybe I'll edit it tomorrow.

Everything Cramped Up

Pretty much sums up the condition in my brain right now.

It has been a while since I last blog (sume sebab exam... benci ah!!)

anyway, since the exams are just one week away, I'll just cram everything in this post, so readers, be warned... this might actually be a long one.

Wanted to post an entry during the First Raya, as it is a very special day. Nothing, would top a fresh entry on special occasions. But than again on the day itself? How vain would that make me??
(err... no offence to those who posted an entry on the first of Syawal... matilah kene kejar lepas nie..)

I wake up that day with the least of celebration mood whatsoever since I've been thinking about the exams since the night before. It was purely due to obligation that I forced myself out of the bed to start preparing for the annual solat while still hoping against all odds my parents would just leave me at the house (serius takde mood) Well, it was highly unlikely through I was the last to step out of the house.

After the Prayer, we went back home for a bit of breakfast before heading to my uncle's house. There company was the same as last year except for one newly-Chinese-convert cambridge graduate celebrating his first Raya. He's quite the talkative guy and from the way he sees it, He's going to continue studying Syari'ah for his post-grad (he's a lawyer now). I was impressed to say the least. He's just converted and he's already thinking of intertwining his practice with the way of Islam. Terrer kan?

Then, it's the yearly visit (untuk aku jeh la yearly, the other family members selalu je gi) to the so-called "Arabic gathering" house. There, you can find almost all of the representative of the Arabic families from Aljunids to Al-Shatrees to the Bajunaids till Al-Haddads. You name it, there's bound to be someone from at least one family house. There were people from all over the world too. This time around, there were Arabs from London and Zimbabwe. If I can remember correctly, last raya we had Arabs from Haddramauts and Sudan too. The greetings at the house are also heavily influenced with Arabic language (duh-uh). Instead of 'selamat hari raya', we say 'minalAidin walFa'izeen' with 'Kullu sanah wa Antum Bikheir' . the term 'ana' and 'anta' can be heard profusely and there's a whole other range of arabic dialects thrown at each other. The conversation usually is a mix of english and arabic but sometimes it can be a full blown Arabic conversation that I don't really understand at all!! Giloh la... Owh, the range of clothes, it's not the usual Raya celebration. Instead of just the traditional Baju Melayu, there's also people with thupps (betol ke aku eje nie??) Jubahs and Sudanese clothes. One rule was that, everyone must button up every buttonhole there is on the clothes. Seriously, if you don't button up properly, matilah kene fire kat sane (I think this is why I can't stand to see people wearing baju melayu with buttons halfway through... serius tak tahan tgk, rase nak koyak2 je baju tuh!!).
One thing I lack in this meeting, is face recognition. Seriously. People came to me and talk and talk but at the end of the day I don't know who am I talking to while the other party had known my name right from the beginning. There's this one guy who said he knew Memer coz they studied in the same school. So we talked a bit and towards the end he sends his regards to Meme... the problem is, I don't know who's the guy. (nak tanyer malulah pulak, because you're suppose to already know everyone there... padan muke sape suruh pegi sane setahun sekali je kan?... matilah tak kenal orang!!) So memer, if you know some arabic guy with curly hair who went to the same school as you, staying in Shah Alam, studying medic in IMU, and going to fly to New Zealand, let me know eh??

The rest of the day, I got more and more excited as I met some more of my aunties and uncles and cousins... through still thinking about the exams... haih... Finally I Can't stand it anymore and went back to Cyber-bosan-gile-jaya by the third day of Raya. hahaha

--------------------------

In other news,

Adi was admitted into the An-Nur wad.

Serious. (pause for effect)

He finally gave in to excise the lump of his right hand as it was starting to hurt.

So Husni and me went with him to see Mr. Azlan to remove the lump.

Katelah Mr. Azlan kecewe tak dapat jadikkan Adi patient for Final exam nanti... hahaha..
(takpe2, there still one more lump in his left hand)

before the surgery

As he was covered for, Mr. Azlan said it's best if Adi stayed over in the ward for one day. Lawak gile! Serius lawaks! Mr. Azlan even considered admitting him in the Rose Ward (sayang wad tuh tak bukak... sigh~) Finally he settled for a double ward in the Orchid Ward.

while waiting for Adi to change

After praying and all, we went to the second floor and Adi was supposed to change into the OT gown. Katelah he didn't come out after 15 minutes. the reason? Segan with the staff nurse! Ahahaha.... In the end, he wore the scrub's pants. Beriman sungguh Adi nieh (puji ok, bukan kutuk!!) then again, I think if I were to wore the gown, mesti malu jugak... huhuhu....

We changed into the scrubs while taking pictures (gile camera sgt student cucms nieh). When everything is ready, Mr. Azalan said one of us can assist him in the surgery. So I did. ~sogan-sogan belajaq how to scrub in a a surgery~

When Mr. Azlan was looking for the lump, (which was, as he had rightfully guess from the start, a ganglion instead of lipomas as everyone had thought of... clap, clap, clap) he accidentally punctured it which, quoting from himself " makes my life more difficult". The lump had shrunken that I can't see it anymore. Terrer lah Mr. Azlan dapat jumpe bende tuh...

Was really nervous because it have been ages since I last pick up the clamps and the forceps and the scissors. Thankfully, I didn't even shake my hands during the surgery. (weee... naseb baek gile tanga tuh tak gegar) Still, it was kinda kekok doing the thing while sitting down, so halfway through, I just stood up till the whole thing end. Better view too. Much better.

macam magic la pulak

When it's all done (around 45 minutes), Mr. Azlan gave us a question on the tendons we could see at the dorsum. Siap Adi gerak-gerak lagih the extensor indices...uuuu

For You

This is dedicated to you;

So, if you want something
And you call, call
Then I'll come running
To fight, and I'll be at your door
When there's nothing worth running for When your mind's made up
When your mind's made up
There's no point trying to change it
When your mind's made up
When your mind's made up
There's no point even talking

You see, you're just like everyone
When the shit falls all you want to do is run, away
And hide all by yourself
well there's no point that's gonna warn to help

When your mind's made up
When your mind's made up
There's no point trying to change it
When your mind's made up
When your mind's made up
There's no point even talking
When your mind's made up
When your mind's made up
There's no point trying to change it

So, if you ever want something
And you call, call
Then I'll come running

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
don't worry,
just do what you do best.
long hours or not,
you have made your mind,
Under the moonlit sky
Went to Prof. Asmadi's house for fast-breaking (betol ke pekataan nie??) last Friday. It was originally for the sport's committee which include the group1 (first batch) and group 8 (second batch) . tapi kiteorng saje je menyebok tak tau malu gi sane makan2... haha... well, actually, the actual committee members could come, so we filled in their places... since Prof. already cooked for a large number of people. huhu.... Adi forgot to bring the camera (chessss!!) so there'd be no pictures... Lameeee.......haha..
That night, Adi asked if I wanted to join the Qiam at the Putrajaya Mosque. Given the time, the opportunity, the situation... I accepted it (why not, eh??), but not before watching the latest season of Grey's Anatomy, which was not up to my expectation, but gave me a good laugh all the same (gile bongok tiru Dr. bailey tapik tak jadik... hahaha). Ended up going there with Shamson at past 1.00 am or sumthing since the others have went there earlier. When we reached there, it was all quiet and dark, and loomy. As we searched for Wan Daud and Adi (they're supposed to be sleeping by the prayers hall) through they weren't asleep yet... we joined them watching the sky and looking for the new surau/mosque/ something in the dark...
when we finally wanted to sleep, Wan Daud purposed to "let's sleep under the moonlight" . (romentik tol Wanda nie yek?) So, instead of sleeping besides the praying hall, we slept (supposedly) under the sky instead. Hey, if you're not allowed to sleep in the hall, might as well enjoy the view outside right?? There was a full moon, and hundreds of clouds hovering above us that night. It was so nostalgic, I repeatedly had to restrain myself from doing something stupid in a mosque.... hehe...
through when I wanted to sleep, the group opposite us were making so much noise, it's impossible to sleep. I was the nearest to them, so I had to hear them--full blast. First, they were talking about how painful it is to squeeze a baby through a vagina. I was taken a back when I heard the word "vagina" in that place, but then, maybe it's the second batch students revising on repro (they are in the repro block now, anyways) but then, they got more and more intense and somehow the word vagina was mentioned every possible second (gile lah budak2 nie). then they turn to another topic; CHET. They discussed on where and how they're going to get to the CHET visits, how they're going to finnish medicine in 5 years time. It took me a while before I got that theyr'e actually from the third batch. Ouw, and by the time I've noticed, they're already talking about vaginas again... haih... (matilah dengar orang laen nye conversation... tapi, hello... sape suruh memekakk malam2 bute samapai orang nak tido pon takleyh!! )
So since I couldn't sleep at all, I just starred at the sky, watching the clouds engulf the moon before releasing it once a gain. Saw some other shapes too, from elephants to an ostrich to a temple to a giant. I really had fun that night even through there wasn't any stars that night... (gile lah imaginasi tahap budak-budak)
by 4 am, the vagina boys were already asleep, tegolek sume mimpi pasal ape aku tak tau...I think I went to sleep by 4.30 and by 4.50am, we (as in, Wanda, Shansom, Adi and me) woke up and starts to prepare for praying mcm gile. Apparently the whole qiam started by 3.00 am. Shooootttttttt!! I didn't know, nor did I notice any movement in the praying hall... (tulah, sape soh berangan tgk bulan kan!!) So we prayed separately, before joining the others for sahur. After Subuh prayers, I went tot recite the Quran by myself unaware that all of the participants had went down to the auditorium along with their stuff. I’d only realized it after reading the second page: EVERYONE WAS GONE!!
I really thought they had left me or are just playing some tricks. I thought there were supposed to be a tazkirah-of-sort after the prayers… so how come they’ve all went back home?? (bongok tak??) turns out, they were waiting in the auditorium for the tazkirah thing! Good thing I brought my handphone… haha….
One thing I didn't know was that all of the participants that night was from cucms!! patotlah banyak org macam senyum2 kat aku dalam gelap... aku ingat ape hal lah mamat2 nie senyum2 kat aku mase aku baru2 sampai... (well, it was dark, couldn't really see their faces! haha)
My nenek saudara i.e; Maharani bt Abdullah died last Tuesday. She was my dad’s auntie, sister to my grandfather (tak reti camne nak ckp…). She wasn’t sick at all according to her family. Sempat jumpe mak aku lagik… give kuih and all… then all of a sudden she died while lying on the bed in the evening.
